Power & Peace

We find Power & Peace within ourselves and amongst ourselves. Power is in our purpose to create an autistic affirming world.

Real power comes from a rejection of the idea that autistic existence is something to be fixed. We find our power when we embrace ourselves fully, unapologetically. There is power in our community. In knowing that we are not alone, we can redefine what society calls ‘normal’ on our own terms.

Peace is emergent, not only when our work is done, but created inside us as we come together to do this work. Peace does not just come from within. Peace is created, sustained and magnified when we find true common ground in each other.

“Power is knowing you are enough as you are and not needing to prove your worth to those who refuse to see it.” -Jenny

“Peace is the quiet knowing that you are loved as you are, without condition, without change.” -Jenny

How to Be an Anti-Ableist

Ableism is everywhere. But we can dismantle it—together.

Power & Peace are both needed. Not to balance each other or serve as two opposing forces, but to strengthen and affirm in alignment. Power is often assumed to be loud, outspoken and bold, where peace is patient and still. We know that there is power in silence and peace within loud voices calling for change in unison.

There is not one way to fight for autistic human rights. There is not one way to dismantle ableism. We just know that we need you, because we are far more powerful together.

💗 1️⃣ Call Out Hate Speech

💖 The R-word, using “autistic” as an insult, functioning labels—all harmful.

💖 Silence sustains systemic ableism. Speak up. Every time.

💗 2️⃣ Drop the Pity Party

💖 When someone shares that they or their loved one is autistic, respond with respect, not pity.

💖 Avoid: “I’m so sorry.” “That must be so hard.”

💖 Instead, try: “Thanks for sharing.” Or ask a question or share something about yourself.

💗 3️⃣ Don’t Be Ignorant

💖 Debunked science and pseudoscience fuel discrimination.

💖 Stay informed. Listen to actual autistic voices and experts.

💗 4️⃣ Be Curious About the Right Things

💖 Questioning why more people are autistic as if it’s a “health crisis” = harmful.

💖 Instead, ask: “How can I support equal access and autistic human rights?”

💗 5️⃣ Examine Your Blind Spots

💖 If you assume autistic people can’t do X, Y, or Z—challenge yourself.

💖 Prove your own biases wrong. Autistic people are people.

💗 6️⃣ Look Inside

💖 Ableist beliefs exist within all of us. Unlearn them.

💖 Seek out autistic authors, artists, athletes, influencers.

💖 Learn directly from autistic voices about their experiences.

💕 Being Anti-Ableist Means… 💕

💖 Taking action—not just believing in inclusion.

💖 Calling out ableism, even when it’s uncomfortable.

💖 Uplifting autistic voices, rights, and experiences.

👉 Do the work. Make the change. Be anti-ableist.
